I have a great deal of respect for Charles Gibson. During his visit to my old news station in Seattle, he stressed the importance of defending quality journalism regardless of the challenges facing our industry. At the end of the day, I believe people still value well told stories over hype and gimmick. Stories may be insightful and even entertaining, but the focus must be on giving the viewer something he or she didn’t know before. Make it worth their time to watch, because empty sales pitches simply turn people away. Good journalists must deliver the goods with every story. It was nice hearing someone at the top reiterating the same values.
This is a travel demo I did for a company in Seattle, Washington about a year ago. I worked with photographer Adam Knight to create the piece, and I feel good about the product we produced. It flows well, feels “fresh”, and has good energy to it. The segment, dubbed GHM Demo, is only a promotional example of the larger piece we proposed to build out. This year, there may be a renewed possibility of developing more travel related segments, similar to this clip. Stay tuned! More details as they become available!
