One of Journalism’s Giants Retires

Many of you know that I enjoy helping young journalists – mentoring students who are trying to get their first jobs, and coaching reporters to become better writers. Well – this post is for the man who patiently and passionately taught me the techniques behind good storytelling and big “J” Journalism. Bob Throndsen was my Managing Editor at KOMO/4 Seattle, my mentor, and one hell of a reporter/writer himself. He made a big impact on my life, and made me a better reporter.

Congratulations on your retirement Bob, and thank you for making the time to teach me.

It was an honor being your student in Seattle.
